This article is a great eye opener – to exactly how invasive metadata is. Metadata is the unseen header information that accompnies every digital transmission, whether internet browsing, email sending, or even making a phone call from a normal telephone.
Supposedly, this is non-invasive because the content of the email, website, or phone call is not included. But… you'll be surprised just how much can be inferred from metadata, such as when you are at home, your probable religious and political affiliations, and so on.
