Space debris isn't just a security threat, its a symbol of how we are still incapable of making peace

It seems to me that the biggest obstacle to cleaning up Space debris is not going to be developing technology, which the USA and Switzerland among other nations have been on for some time, but rather preventing politicians from misconstrue the efforts as an excuse to attack each other. I wonder if we will ever grow up?
