Why fluid layouts need more attention

Dear website owners, and in particular +Google , can you please optimize your mobile websites by using smart fluid layouts instead of making a separate mobile page? 'Mobile pages' are arguably the most annoying part of the mobile web experience. Nothing is worse than having your favorite functions not available, 'mobile_optimized' input forms that don't accept input properly, and layout that is, at times, excruciating to work with.

While I can understand that you want to help users streamline their mobile experience, please don't overdo it. It is extremely crippling for end-users, especially when you can't switch to a 'desktop' mode or when the desktop mode doesn't work thanks to javascript, conflicting css, or other random issues!
