It looks like Facebook has started to learn something, instead of introducing additional confusion with its new features. I wonder what the catch is in this feature rollout? Really just scared of Google+?

    well i'd say its actually not easy to locate such announcements unless a person has "liked" one of their myriad help and announcement pages or you get to see a service suddenly introduced. Probably the best thing any social network could do is provide a small link on the UI called "announcements" that talk of all their proposed changes.

    I'm not surprised. Facebook, at least in my eyes, is where all the non-techies hang out – and they aren't big on figuring out where the idea of some small little feature came from.
